Video: Machine Guns, Rifles, and Handguns Handed Over to Police Stations

Various police departments in Armenia have recorded cases of voluntary surrender of illegal weapons. This information was provided by the Armenian Police.

Responding quickly to citizens' reports, police in Ararat uncovered machine guns that individuals had left and called the police about. A citizen who called the Masis police also reported leaving homemade firearms in a polyethylene bag near an abandoned construction site. Officers promptly discovered a homemade pistol at the location indicated by the citizen.

On the night of May 23, a 51-year-old resident of Nor Kharberd voluntarily surrendered a shortened shotgun with its serial number erased to the Masis police. A 44-year-old resident from the village of Hovitash brought a shortened shotgun, a grenade with a detonator, and various calibers of cartridges to the Masis department on May 25.

A 31-year-old resident from the village of Zakhalanj in Armavir province voluntarily handed over a homemade revolver with over 120 assorted cartridges to the Vagarshapat police station on May 26.

Two men living in the Aragatsotn region brought various calibers of cartridges, along with a grenade with a detonator, a magazine for a machine gun, and a homemade pistol to the Talin police department. They stated that they discovered the weapons while cleaning their home.

A 40-year-old man from Gegharkunik province voluntarily surrendered grenades with detonators and 90 cartridges for a machine gun to the police department in Gavar.

Thanks to the explanatory work of the officers at the Kumayri police department serving the Shirak airport, a 48-year-old resident voluntarily surrendered a Kalashnikov hand machine gun without a serial number, which he claimed belonged to his deceased grandfather.

Due to the explanatory efforts of the officers in the Marash section of the Central police department, a 25-year-old man from Yerevan voluntarily handed over grenades, magazines, and 158 cartridges of various calibers, which belonged to his late uncle.

A 63-year-old resident from Nerkicharakh voluntarily surrendered a homemade pistol, grenades, their detonators, and cartridges of various calibers to the Charbak police station in Shengavit.

As a result of the explanatory work conducted by criminal investigators in Yerevan, a 66-year-old resident of Nerkicharakh voluntarily surrendered TOZ-type rifled firearms and a grenade with a detonator to the Shengavit police station.

Due to the efforts of the minor affairs department in Yerevan, a 62-year-old man voluntarily handed over a TOZ-type rifled firearm, a grenade, its detonator, and cartridges to the Erebuni police department.

The pistol, grenade with a detonator, and various cartridges were also voluntarily surrendered to the Erebuni police by a 34-year-old man, who stated that they belonged to his deceased father. Forensic examinations have been ordered.
