VIDEO: Gugark Police Uncover Illegal Logging Incidents
The police are paying special attention to environmental issues, continuing their consistent fight against illegal logging. The latest incident was uncovered by the Gugark division of the police.
On May 21, at around 5:30 AM, officers from the division inspected a "Ford Transit" vehicle belonging to a 34-year-old resident of the village of Yeghenut, which was loaded with about 4 cubic meters of timber.
The driver failed to present any documentation verifying the legality of the firewood, claiming he acquired it in November of the previous year from a nearby forest in Yeghenut.
The vehicle loaded with timber has been moved to a secure area of the Gugark Police Division. The circumstances are being clarified, and a professional examination has been ordered. Materials are being prepared on the fact.
