Pulse Oximeters and Personal Protective Equipment Distributed to Polyclinics

In a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia has acquired 500 pulse oximeters as part of its "Disease Prevention and Control" program. These devices have already been distributed to hospitals in the regions and in Yerevan, city polyclinics, rural ambulatory clinics, and health centers.

This distribution enables healthcare workers in the regions and Yerevan to conduct research on a broader range of patients by assessing their blood oxygen saturation, commonly referred to as oxygen saturation (SpO2).

Additionally, as part of the COVID-19 response, the Ministry of Health has provided individual protective equipment to the regional municipalities and the Yerevan city administration for distribution to primary health care (PHC) institutions. This includes 24,000 protective suits, 20,000 pairs of gloves, 14,000 three-layer masks, 1,180 units of 250ml hand sanitizer, and 840 pairs of protective goggles.

During the five working days of the previous week, the National Institute of Health of the Republic of Armenia organized 15 online courses for doctors and administrative staff of PHC institutions in Yerevan and the regions, involving 2,021 participants. These courses will continue in a continuous format.
