Armenia's Military Cooperation with Russia is Quite Close: Sergey Lavrov
“Armenia's military cooperation with Russia is quite close.” This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during an online briefing summarizing the results of the CSTO Foreign Ministers’ Council meeting.
“We assess the relations as allied, and they are just that,” Lavrov noted. According to him, this is relevant for both CSTO interactions and bilateral cooperation.
“Military cooperation is quite close. You know that a Russian military base is located in Armenia, which helps ensure stability and security in the region. When it comes to military-technical cooperation and military-technical assistance that we provide to Armenia, a close and effective dialogue has been established, not just communication, but work. So, no issues arise in this area,” concluded the Russian Foreign Minister.
It should be noted that on May 26, a meeting of the CSTO member states' foreign ministers was held in a video conferencing format, in which Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan also participated and delivered a speech.
