Why is Prime Minister Pashinyan Leading the Commission's Meetings? Are Relations with Avinyan Strained?
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "There has been much talk recently about cracks within the authorities. In particular, there have been numerous publications regarding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's tense relationship with the coordinator Tigran Avinyan. Even the incident between the director of the 'Academician Emil Gabrielian Center for Pharmaceuticals and Medical Technologies' LLC, Vilen Gabrielian, and Tigran Avinyan was perceived in this context.
As Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has led the last few meetings of the commission coordinating the prevention of the spread of coronavirus, the comments have increased. The newspaper "Hraparak" attempted to clarify whether the Prime Minister's chairing of meetings is due to tension between Avinyan and Pashinyan.
Press secretary of the Prime Minister Mane Gevorgyan stated in an interview with us that this tension does not actually exist. She added that since the state of emergency was declared in the Republic of Armenia, the Prime Minister has chaired the meetings of the commission coordinating the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus numerous times. In short, it would be incorrect to look for other motivations in this fact.”
