Mask Wearing Becomes Mandatory in More Locations: New Decision Signed by the Minister

The Minister Tigran Avinyan signed a new decision today, May 25, regarding the wearing of masks. It has been established that in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, the presence of a mask is mandatory in public outdoor areas, as well as wearing a mask in personal passenger and freight transport if there is at least one passenger in the vehicle besides the driver.

Mask wearing will also become mandatory for both customers and sellers. This rule applies to retail venues, consumer goods markets, agricultural product markets, animal markets, mobile trade points, retail points for liquid fuels, compressed natural or liquefied petroleum gas, mobile trade, outdoor trade, trade realization areas, shopping centers, fairs (vernissages), retail sales areas, stores, kiosks, and sales areas (sales tables).

Customers are prohibited from entering shopping areas without individual protective equipment, namely a mask and gloves, and they will not be served. Customers are required to wear a mask in all possible instances.

Wearing a mask will be mandatory at bus stops as well. Passenger boarding and the presence of passengers in a transportation vehicle is excluded without them wearing personal protective equipment—mask and gloves.

All employees must wear masks while performing their work duties both at the workplace and outside of it. This decision comes into effect on May 25, 2020, at 23:59.
