Infectees at Izmirlian Orphanage Not Hospitalized, Isolated On-Site: Batoyan
The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Zaruhi Batoyan, has made a post on her Facebook page regarding the cases of coronavirus infection at the Mery Izmirlian Orphanage. She reported that among the infectees, 9 are children in the institution and 6 are staff members.
“A total of 46 people were tested at the Mery Izmirlian Orphanage, with 15 confirming the presence of the new coronavirus infection. 9 are children in the institution, while 6 are employees. Fortunately, none of them show any symptoms and they are feeling well. They have not been hospitalized; instead, they have been isolated at the institution where it is easier to ensure the care of the children.
The first suspicions of the virus arose in one of the staff members on the evening of May 23, who experienced a fever of up to 37.6°C. The employee was immediately isolated.
Currently, our medical specialists are working at the institution, alongside an invited epidemiologist and doctor. The area has also been disinfected once again. The institution has been operating under quarantine mode since February 27, and has been in closed mode since May 19,” Batoyan wrote.
