Director of National Security Service Edward Martirosyan Has Not Submitted Resignation
The Information Verification Center has issued a statement announcing that Edward Martirosyan, the director of the National Security Service (NSS), has not submitted a resignation request.
“Media outlets had reported that Edward Martirosyan, the director of the NSS, submitted a resignation request to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about a week ago, which has yet to be signed. According to the media, the reason for the NSS director's resignation request was the appointment of Arghisti Qaramyan, the former head of the State Oversight Service, as Martirosyan's first deputy, as well as Nikol Pashinyan's interference in the operations of the security forces.”
“In an interview with the Information Verification Center, the NSS denied the report, stating that Edward Martirosyan has not submitted a resignation request and continues to perform his duties,” the statement concludes.
