Hayk Marutyan Addresses Graduates: 'I Hope You Haven't Been Discouraged by This Unforeseen Turn'
Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan congratulated the graduates: “Dear graduates, your school life is coming to an end this week. I know you envisioned this phase of life ending differently. I hope you haven't been discouraged by this unforeseen turn because any surprise in life brings new experiences, thus new skills to face challenges.
For instance, during these pandemic days, you learned to use remote tools for your education, a skill that will surely come in handy in your further studies and work. The isolation imposed by quarantine, especially at your age, is another challenge, but it provided an opportunity to re-evaluate the joy of direct communication with our friends, relatives, and loved ones.
I want to congratulate and thank your teachers who have been by your side for many years, and in the past months were also able to honorably fulfill their mission by quickly 'reformatting' and shifting the learning process to an online platform. I also congratulate your parents on this emotional and significant day.
I am happy to live and work in a city where people like you reside; it is extremely pleasant to realize that the bright generation of today will shape the future of our city. Congratulations to you, and best of luck!
In all turns of life, remember that we are Armenian, residents of Armenia, therefore we are honest, hardworking, law-abiding, and creative. And most importantly, together we are strong!”
