Four Countries Boycott UN Security Council Meeting on Crimea Invited by Russia

The representatives of the United States, Great Britain, Estonia, and Ukraine did not attend the UN Security Council meeting. This meeting was convened by Russia and focused on the issue of Crimea. Russian news outlet Izvestia reported this information.

It was noted that during the meeting, there was a video link with the residents of Crimea, and the Russian side expressed regret that especially the representatives of Ukraine did not take the opportunity to communicate with the Crimean people.

This meeting was a response to a previous session during which, despite Russian efforts, a video link with the Crimeans could not be established.

The Russian delegation stated that such behavior is contradictory to recently established traditions and neglects the issues concerning the residents of Crimea.
