The Governor Has Approved the Form and Content of the Notice
The Governor Tigran Avinyan has signed a new decision establishing the rules for organizing self-isolation for individuals subject to self-isolation, as well as the form of a notice that must be provided to citizens arriving from abroad.
NOTICE
Regarding the liability for violating self-isolation or quarantine rules, you are hereby notified that violations of these rules may lead to liability as outlined in the Criminal Code or the Code of Administrative Violations of the Republic of Armenia.
According to Article 277.1 of the Criminal Code and part 10 of Article 182.3 of the Code of Administrative Violations, isolation is defined as the separation of individuals, including the patient or infected individual, or those in contact with them (contacts), in a designated area to prevent direct contact with others and to stop the spread of infection.
Self-isolation is defined as the separation of individuals, including the patient or infected individual, or those in contact with them (contacts), in their permanent residence or another chosen location to limit direct contact with others and to prevent the spread of infection.
According to Article 277.1 of the Criminal Code, violations of self-isolation or quarantine rules, or any restrictions on the right to free movement imposed during a state of emergency, may lead to penalties based on the consequences caused (e.g., infecting one or more individuals, causing serious harm to health, or resulting in a death).
Penalties may include:
- A fine of up to 700,000 AMD,
- Detention for a maximum period of 3 months,
- Imprisonment for a maximum period of 4 years, with detention and imprisonment accompanied by deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in specific activities for a maximum of three years.
According to part 10 of Article 182.3 of the Code of Administrative Violations, violations of self-isolation or quarantine rules, or any restrictions on the right to free movement during a declared state of emergency, result in a fine between 100,000 and 250,000 AMD.
In case of violation of the self-isolation regime, self-isolation may be replaced by quarantine in a designated area.
Individuals crossing the state border are also held accountable for any violations of self-isolation rules committed by minors under the age of 16 accompanying them.
