Employee Struck with Iron Rod and $10,000 Stolen
On May 22, a robbery occurred in Yerevan. Around 9:30 AM, a call was received at the operational management center of the Yerevan police from an unidentified citizen, reporting that an injured man was lying in the area of buildings 130 and 132 on Andranik Street in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district, according to Shamshyan.com.
Before the Malatia police's operational group could arrive at the scene, the victim, a man approximately 40 years old, was transported to the Astghik Medical Center with head injuries.
The victim informed the police that he was struck from behind with an iron rod, after which about $10,000 he had on him was stolen.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Malatia-Sebastia investigative department regarding the incident. According to sources, the victim also informed the police that he works at a currency exchange point in the Malatia market.
