VIDEO: The Police Emergency Service Operates in the Streets of Yerevan
The police divisions across the republic continue to operate in emergency mode, aiming to prevent the potential spread of the new coronavirus, in accordance with the decision of the Commandant. The Armenian police issued a statement stating, "Police are monitoring to ensure that public transport does not exceed the designated number of passengers, that drivers wear masks and gloves, and have protective and disinfectant supplies available.
Passengers in public transport are also required to wear masks and gloves and to sanitize their hands at the disinfectant stations installed at the entrances of buses or minibuses. In taxis, drivers must wear masks and gloves, and it is prohibited to transport passengers without protective equipment. It is also forbidden to have a passenger seated next to the driver.
Police are identifying individuals who violate these rules, removing them from vehicles and compiling reports. Police are also conducting emergency operations at bus stops and crowded places, ensuring that citizens maintain social distancing and wear masks.
It is also reminded that attendance at memorial and burial ceremonies in closed venues is limited to no more than five people. All decisions of the Commandant can be viewed in the "Commandant's Decisions" section on the gov.am website.
Once again, we remind you that violating the rules incurs legal responsibility. Dear citizens, strictly adhere to safety regulations. Let us all do everything to prevent the spread of the pandemic. Remember that by following these rules, we are saving lives," the statement concluded.
