Varag Siserian on Rumors of 'Disrupting' Avinian

The newspaper ‘Hraparak’ writes: ‘Our call to the office of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinian was answered by his advisor Varag Siserian, who was supposed to be on vacation. He stated that he had just returned from vacation a few days ago. Why? ‘Mr. Avinian recalled him as there was quite a bit of work to do; the rules needed to be set according to the new situation, and it’s not right to search for something beneath everything.’

However, is it true that a citizen was waiting for Avinian the day before and was ‘disrupted’ during a scuffle? ‘We do not have such information; we have stated that this did not occur. Regarding the disruption, I must say that there is no such thing as disruption in Armenian culture; that was a part of our Lebanese culture, and in Armenia, people prefer to engage in discussions. By the way, in 2012, when I had just arrived in Armenia, due to a ‘boyish’ approach of a Lebanese friend of mine, I too was disrupted, and I was taken to the police station. Since that day, I left that culture in Lebanon.’

They say the goal was to show Avinian his place, to imply that he should set aside his ambitions. ‘Who says such things? There has been no such incident regarding Avinian; we have denied this and are denying it now.’ There is information that the citizen had ‘waited’ outside for quite a long time for Avinian. ‘Even now, citizens are waiting outside for us.’ For more details, refer to today’s issue of the newspaper.
