Changes to the Governor's Decision

The Governor Tigran Avinyan signed a new decision on May 21, introducing amendments to the decision from March 18.

The decision states the following: “Guided by the Government of the Republic of Armenia’s decision N 298-N from March 16, 2020:

1. It is established that:
• 1.1 A requirement for self-isolation is set for individuals arriving in the Republic of Armenia from abroad, as well as for persons living with a COVID-19 infected individual or those who have had close contact with them (hereinafter referred to as contacts).
• 1.2 Individuals arriving in the Republic of Armenia will receive a 14-day self-isolation notification from the duty personnel of the State Border Health Control (SBHC) points, which is established by the Director of the Ministry of Health and Labor Inspection in the self-isolation notice (hereinafter referred to as Notice), indicating their specified place of self-isolation, which they cannot leave during the entire self-isolation period.
• 1.3 The responsibility for ensuring compliance with the self-isolation requirement for minor children lies with the persons who signed the Notice.
• 1.4 An exception to the provision in point 1.2 of this decision is made for members of the aircraft crew arriving in the territory of the Republic of Armenia to organize the rest of the pilots, drivers engaged in interstate freight transportation, and train drivers of freight trains (including those who leave the territory of the Republic of Armenia after unloading freight vehicles and train sets).
• 1.5 Should no symptoms of the infection be detected, members of the aircraft's crew arriving in the territory of the Republic of Armenia to organize the rest of the pilots, as well as drivers engaged in interstate freight transportation, shall self-isolate until the next departure after entering the territory of the Republic of Armenia, while train drivers and their attendants shall do so until the next shift after their current shift.
• 1.6 A self-isolation requirement is imposed on individuals living with an infected person or those who have had close contact with them, and oversight over all individuals in self-isolation, regardless of the basis for self-isolation, is conducted in accordance with the procedure set forth in Section 8 of the Annex of the Government decision N 298-N.
• 1.7 Individuals arriving in the Republic of Armenia must present their signed Notice, along with other documents presented at the border checkpoint, before crossing the border, regarding the liability for violating self-isolation rules.
• 1.8 Individuals arriving in the Republic of Armenia are obliged to sign the Notice regarding the liability for violations of the self-isolation rules.
• 1.9 In case of violations of the self-isolation rules by individuals arriving in the Republic of Armenia during the self-isolation period, the self-isolation may be replaced by compulsory isolation established by the Ministry of Health to prevent possible spread of the infection,” the decision states.
