Gurgen Khachatryan is in Armenia. He has gone to the house of a relative and 'isolated' himself there.

The newspaper 'Irates' writes that a member of the 'My Step' faction in the National Assembly is convinced that Gurgen Khachatryan, son of the former head of the State Revenue Committee Gagik Khachatryan, has not left Armenia. Recently, rumors circulated that Khachatryan had fled the country under the state of emergency.

In a conversation with 'Irates', the My Step representative stated that there is no evidence that Gurgen Khachatryan has crossed the borders of Armenia; it is merely speculation. 'He hasn’t fled anywhere, as far as I know. When the court approved the request for his detention, he went to a relative's house and 'isolated' himself there. It is not as if he could have escaped while under the supervision of law enforcement,' the representative explained.

‘But isn’t it incidents like this that make people begin to distrust the authorities, leading to a decline in your ratings?’ we pointed out. The My Step representative acknowledged that the governing team's ratings have indeed experienced some decline but emphasized that the fallen ratings are recoverable. 'Let’s accept that when people see representatives of the former government standing in court, trust will be restored, and our ratings will rise again. Yes, people want to see former officials in court, and if that does not happen, they appear negative in the eyes of the public. However, when the day comes and they see how the former officials respond, everything will fall into place,' he stated.
