Director of the Investigative Department of NSS Arthur Aghajanyan Dismissed
The Director of the Investigative Department of the NSS, Arthur Aghajanyan, has been dismissed from his position. In an interview with Armtimes.com, the former official assured that his resignation request is not related to the appointment of Argishti Kyaramyan as the Deputy Director of the NSS.
"My decision is not connected to anything. I submitted a resignation letter and asked for it to be accepted, but it was not being accepted. The order has been in effect since May 12, and now I am enjoying my freedom," he stated.
When asked whether other officials have also been dismissed apart from himself, the former head of the Investigative Department mentioned that he is unaware of the situation regarding others. Speaking about media reports that unrest has begun within the NSS following Kyaramyan's appointment, Aghajanyan responded, "There is no unrest or turmoil in a military institution at all. We are all military personnel and serve the state. I wrote a resignation letter considering my intense and extremely stressful psychological state due to work. I said it is enough, let the younger ones work for a while."
Aghajanyan noted that he has worked in the system for 24 years of his 48 years of life.
