28 Individuals Charged in Gavar Incident Case; 3 Subjects Wanted
The Investigation Committee of Armenia's Special Cases Division continues to conduct extensive investigative and procedural actions regarding the criminal case involving the murder of two individuals and the infliction of gunshot wounds on four others in Gavar, along with mass disturbances accompanied by violence and property destruction.
Four more individuals have been charged in connection with the mass disturbances, three of whom are currently wanted. Requests to select arrest as a measure of restraint for the accused are under discussion.
At present, a total of 28 individuals are charged in this criminal case. Among them, 25 are charged for participating in the mass disturbances at the Gavar Medical Center and for inciting calls during the incidents, one individual is charged with attempted murder at the same center, and two individuals are charged with the attempted murder of two or more persons in a dangerous manner on Gavar’s Freedom Street, as well as for illegally acquiring, possessing, and carrying firearms.
Earlier, it was reported that as a result of extensive investigative and procedural actions, as well as operational and investigative measures, 10 vehicles belonging to individuals involved in the incident and shooting have been identified, alongside two firearms used as instruments of the crime, which have been subjected to forensic examinations. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Information regarding procedural decisions based on the evidence obtained will be provided periodically.
