Search Operations Continue for Vehicle in Aghstev River

Search operations for a vehicle that fell into the Aghstev River on May 9 continue. Today, on May 11, at 06:10, rescue teams from the Emergency Situations Ministry’s Tavush regional rescue unit dispatched two battle units to the site to resume search efforts. Additionally, one battle unit from the Civil Defense’s collective center for the protection of special facilities in Tavush and one battle unit from the regional rescue unit in Gegharkunik were also involved.

A total of 30 rescue workers are currently engaged in the search operations.

It is worth noting that at 22:20 on May 9, the National Crisis Management Center received information that a car had fallen into the Aghstev River in the village of Haghartsin, Tavush region. Two battle units from the emergency rescue unit were dispatched to the scene. The retrieval of the vehicle from the river requires specialized equipment.

The emergency services sent two operational groups and an additional battle unit from the emergency rescue unit to assist in the operation. However, due to the river's current, the rescuers were unable to recover the vehicle, and operations were halted.

On May 10, at 06:10, operations were resumed with the deployment of the operational group from the emergency rescue unit and one battle unit. At 21:42, the work was suspended without success, as the vehicle was not located (it is believed that the river has swept it away).
