Shooting in Tavush Province: Former MP Khachatur Kokobelyan's Son and Relatives Injured

Yesterday, gunfire was reported in Tavush Province. Around 19:30, the police department in Ijevan received a call stating that a brawl and fight had occurred in front of the greenhouse known as "Kokobelyans" in the village of Achajur, during which gunshots were heard.

According to SHAMSHYAN.com, police who arrived at the scene discovered that army officer Sayad Nazaryan and three other army personnel had assaulted 43-year-old Edmond Edilyan, a resident of Ijevan, alongside residents of Achajur village: 49-year-old Vachik Kokobelyan, 29-year-old Sevada Kokobelyan, and 19-year-old Yuri Kokobelyan, all of whom sustained bodily injuries. Reports indicate that gunfire was also heard during the brawl, after which the assailants fled the scene.

Subsequently, officers from the military police of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia arrived at the scene. A team from the Military Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, under the leadership of Division Head David Fljyan and Investigator Grigoryan, also worked at the site.

The Ijevan police and military police are undertaking necessary operational-investigative and joint measures to establish the full details of S. Nazaryan and the other military personnel present, and to locate them as well as the firearm used in the crime.

According to SHAMSHYAN, V. Kokobelyan is a co-owner of "ECO Frukt LLC", S. Kokobelyan is the son of former National Assembly member Khachatur Kokobelyan, who works as the director of "Green House LLC", while Yu. Kokobelyan is a student at Yerevan State University.
