Emergencies in Ranchpar Village: Water Levels of the Sevjur River Rise

An emergency situation has arisen in the Ararat region. Due to the rising water levels of the Metsamor River flowing from the Armavir region to Ararat, the water has overflowed into the Sevjur River, causing damage to the lands of the residents of Ranchpar village.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamsyan, a combat unit from the Ararat regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, along with an operational group, has arrived at the scene. To lower the water level, a crane has been brought to Ranchpar village to open the inactive second valve for water regulation; however, it has not yet been possible, forcing rescuers to use specialized equipment to manage the valve.

Ararat Governor Garik Sargsyan has also arrived on-site to investigate the issue. In a conversation with the photojournalist, the villagers expressed their concerns: “If the river had been cleaned in time, this situation would not have occurred. Every time such situations arise, the responsible parties promise to clean it, but all that goes out of the window, and the Sevjur River brings another disaster upon us. Now we want to believe that at least this time they will take measures, since the governor is here.”
