A Patient with Coronavirus Was Found in a French Hospital as Early as December, The Guardian

A doctor at a French hospital has studied the medical records of pneumonia patients and noticed that one of the patients had been infected with the new type of coronavirus. The man, hospitalized on December 27, 2019, has recently recovered from the virus, according to The Guardian.

However, the first official case of COVID-19 infection in France was reported nearly a month later, in January. “The man’s two children had contact with him, as did his wife, but the man is astonished at how he contracted the virus, as his only circle of contacts has been his family. His wife worked with Chinese colleagues at a supermarket, but she was not infected,” the doctor explained.

According to local media reports, the infected man’s wife prepares sushi with her Chinese colleagues, and it is presumed that the virus could have been transmitted to her from the colleagues, although this information has not yet been confirmed. The medical professionals will continue to review the tests submitted by the man during the winter season, as the disease may have been detected earlier than December 27, 2019.
