Remote Education Will Continue; No Transfer Exams for Several Grades

During the state of emergency declared due to the new type of coronavirus in Armenia, and throughout May, in-person classes will not take place. This was announced by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Arayik Harutyunyan, during a live broadcast on his Facebook page.

“The 2020 academic year will conclude with remote education, meaning there will be no in-person classes. This year, remote education will also continue throughout May,” Harutyunyan noted.

The minister further stated that no transfer exams will be conducted for 4th and 9th-grade students at the end of the academic year in public educational institutions. The annual grades of students, which are based on scores recorded in the electronic register up to March 13, are considered the final grades upon which students will be promoted to the next grade. No exams will be conducted for 10th and 11th grades either, with the summarization taking place in the same manner.
