No Final Exams Will Be Held: Araik Harutyunyan

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, Araik Harutyunyan, spoke today during a Facebook live broadcast about the final exams in schools, colleges, and vocational institutions. He announced that there will be no final exams for the 12th grade, and the summarization will take place in the same manner as in the 4th and 9th grades.

No defense of final or diploma projects and exams will be conducted in colleges and vocational institutions. The minister indicated that the summarization is carried out similarly to the final assessments in schools, and if a student does not have a grade in the second semester, the year is determined based on the results of the first semester. The summarization in these educational institutions will be completed, and diplomas will be issued by June 5.

"Considering that some students completed their final exams in December of last year, they are given the option to choose between the exam result or the annual grade to be kept as a test grade on the certificate. In the case of final assessments, we face a very important security issue—the issue of conscription. Essentially, our actions are based on ensuring that we do not hinder the conscription process or create problems; for that reason, several decisions have been made in this context," the minister stated.
