Major Accident on the Hrazdan-Hankavan Highway: Casualties Reported
On April 23, at 18:12, the Crisis Management National Center received a report of a traffic accident near the village of Aghavnadzor in the Kotayk region.
A team from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene.
It was revealed that at the 5th km of the H-28 highway section between Hrazdan and Hankavan, vehicles of the brands "VAZ-2171" (driver: Artak B., born in 1992) and "VAZ-2106" (driver: Alexey G., born in 1939) collided. As a result of the accident, the "VAZ-2106" vehicle rolled into a ravine (approximately 4 meters).
Both drivers died at the scene. Rescuers removed the bodies of the drivers from the vehicles and brought them to the ambulances. Following this, with the help of special equipment, the "VAZ-2106" vehicle was retrieved from the ravine and transported on a tow truck.
