Criminal Case Opened After 49-Year-Old Man Shot on Mamigonian Street
On April 21, 2020, at 20:55, a report was received from the "Kanaker-Zeytun" Medical Center stating that a 49-year-old man from Yerevan was admitted with gunshot wounds to both thighs and a displaced fracture of the lower third of the left thigh. This was reported by the Investigative Committee.
It has been determined that on the same day, around 20:00, near a beauty salon on Mamigonian Street in Yerevan, an unidentified individual, who committed a criminal act, opened fire on the legs of a resident of Yerevan, intentionally grossly violating public order, using an illegally held firearm, causing gunshot injuries.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 258, Part 4 (hooliganism) and Article 235, Part 1 (acquisition, sale, possession, transport, or carrying of illegal weapons, military supplies, explosives, or explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia at the Arabkir Investigation Division of the Yerevan City Investigation Department.
Immediate investigative actions have been carried out, including an inspection of the crime scene, during which two 9mm caliber cartridges, blood-like traces were discovered, samples were taken, and recording devices from the area, as well as the victim's clothes, were confiscated. Several individuals have been questioned. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the case, identify the presumed perpetrator, and verify the details mentioned in witness testimonies.
