VIDEO: Fire Near Chernobyl Approaches Nuclear Power Plant
Ukrainian firefighters continue their efforts to extinguish a fire in three forest areas within the zone of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. According to korrespondent.net, the fire that broke out in the Chernobyl zone has already destroyed 12 former villages and is approaching the nuclear power plant.
A total of 366 personnel and 88 pieces of firefighting equipment, including 3 AN-32P aircraft and 3 helicopters, have been mobilized to combat the fire. The blaze began on April 4 and has spread across three forested areas.
Law enforcement authorities have identified a suspect in the arson case, and a criminal case has been initiated against them.
