A 63-Year-Old Man Dies of Coronavirus in Voronezh; He is a Citizen of Armenia

A 63-year-old man has died from coronavirus in Voronezh, marking the first death due to the virus in the city. According to local authorities, the man was an Armenian citizen who had traveled to Voronezh from Moscow at the end of March.

"A 63-year-old citizen has died in Voronezh. He is a citizen of Armenia. He arrived in Voronezh from Moscow on March 24. According to him, on April 2, he began showing signs of acute respiratory illness," the official statement reads.

On April 6, the man felt unwell and called for an ambulance. Doctors suspected him of having coronavirus and transferred him to a special section of the hospital. "Following medical examination, it was determined that the man had bilateral pneumonia. Immediate treatment was initiated. During intensive therapy, the patient’s condition fluctuated. From April 8, he was connected to a mechanical ventilator. Treatment was complicated due to serious chronic diseases of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Doctors fought for the man's life until the very end. He died on April 12," the statement continues.

It is noteworthy that there have been 49 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in the Voronezh region, of which 12 have recovered and been discharged.
