Cash Disinfection Using Hot Iron at Poti Market
A cash disinfection point has been set up near the entrance of the Poti agricultural market. This was reported by newsgeorgia.ge, referencing the online publication batumelebi.
Here, banknotes are disinfected using a hot iron, while coins are treated with antiseptics. In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the director of the Poti market has ordered measures to prevent the spread of the infection. Individuals refusing to disinfect their cash are not allowed to enter the premises.
It is noteworthy that this week, coronavirus has been confirmed in seven employees of the National Bank of Georgia's warehouse, although the source of the infection remains unknown. Experts do not rule out the possibility that the virus was transmitted through paper. Notably, the use of a hot iron for disinfecting money was suggested by the Deputy Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Paata Imnadze.
