Step Out of the Sterile Zone and Work, Don't Look for Scoundrels, It's Bad Tone - Hripsime Arakelyan to the Mayor
“I’m glad you responded after my statement yesterday, and I’m happy that you are responding to Ms. Naira Zohrabyan directly, but the vocabulary you are using is quite absurd,” wrote Yerevan City Council member Hripsime Arakelyan on her Facebook page, reacting to the live broadcast of Hayk Marutyan.
“Who are you calling scoundrels? The people who know that you are still keeping yourself quarantined even at work, and your assistant is slipping signing papers under the door? The ones who do not meet anyone and only go live on air in the open with the background of Kamaz trucks, thinking that’s the safest move? We can provide you with hand sanitizer and masks, which only appeared at the city hall after you returned from your coronavirus vacation. I understand you were under stress, locked in, while all the staff at the city hall – unlike other state bodies – were working without masks and without hand sanitizer, until you stepped back into the city hall after the coronavirus break.
Regardless, I’m glad to see that you follow our posts; at least the Yerevan residents have seen you. As for your working style, I’m surprised. Haven’t they told you that everything is online now, the country is under a state of emergency, and you are obliged to provide online accountability like everyone else? Separate yourself from your team, and don’t project your fears on being special. Today, information is disseminated online, being present in person is vital, and do not be afraid. If you do get infected with the coronavirus, you will recover quickly, don’t worry, the main thing is not to panic. Are the other officials not people?
So let me see you, step out of the sterile area and work, and don’t look for scoundrels; that is bad tone and not fitting for a mayor who received 82% of the votes; show some courage.
