Serviceman Garegin Babakekhyan's Colleague Arrested on Suspicion of Intentional Murder

In connection with the death of conscript serviceman Garegin Kamoy Babakekhyan, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 360.1, Part 2, Clause 3 of the RA Criminal Code for the crime of causing a serviceman to commit suicide due to negligence. As a result of investigative and operational intelligence activities carried out jointly with the staff of the RA Ministry of Defense, on April 3, 2020, at 22:25, a colleague of Babakekhyan was arrested on suspicion of intentionally depriving him of life, for committing offenses under Article 365, Part 1 and Article 104, Part 2, Clause 11 of the RA Criminal Code for violating the rules of military duty and attempting to conceal the stated crime.

The investigation is ongoing.
