The Commandant's Office Manages Issues of Armenian Citizens in 50 Countries, Including Israel - Anna Naghdalyan

The Armenian Embassy in Israel is in constant contact with students remaining there, and regular measures are being taken to find solutions to all the issues they face locally. Anna Naghdalyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, stated this in her comments, adding that the issues of Armenian citizens currently abroad are quite comprehensive. Armenian diplomatic missions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Commandant's Office fully control information about the problems of our citizens in more than 50 countries.

As reported by the Public Relations and Diplomatic Communication Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Naghdalyan emphasized, “As early as March 23, nine Armenian students whose school was closed at that time contacted the Armenian Embassy in Israel and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding accommodation and return issues to Armenia. The latter were provided with all necessary conditions for accommodation on-site, and the Embassy secured tickets for their return to Armenia, as well as arranged transportation to the airport. However, due to flight cancellations and restrictions imposed by the Israeli government as part of the fight against the new type of coronavirus, the return of our citizens to Armenia has been delayed.”

The Embassy remains in constant contact with the students, and regular measures are being taken to address all the challenges they face locally. Currently, the problems of Armenian citizens abroad are quite extensive; Armenian diplomatic missions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Commandant's Office fully manage information regarding our citizens' issues in more than 50 countries. Armenian diplomatic missions work around the clock and under high pressure to address these issues amid the limitations imposed and changing daily by various countries.

In each individual country, the form and extent of support are determined considering health security issues, existing capabilities, and the specific situation. We urge all interested parties not to create hype around specific cases and to resist the temptation to serve sectional interests. The situation requires civic responsibility and a serious approach from everyone.
