Armenia is Not Negotiating with Russia for the Acquisition of a Coronavirus Treatment

As of now, no government body in Armenia is negotiating with the Russian company 'MedSintez' regarding the importation of a batch of the drug 'Triazavirin', which is currently in the trial phase against coronavirus, said Alina Nikoghosyan, the spokesperson for the Armenian Minister of Health, as reported by Aysor.am.

She also noted that the ministry is not conducting any discussions about importing the medicine from Russia. The commandant's office has not been holding such negotiations with the Russian side either, stated Mane Gevorgyan, the press officer of the commandant's office.

'At this moment, we have nothing regarding this matter. I am waiting for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to say something,' she mentioned.

According to reports from the Russian TASS agency, Alexander Petrov, the chairman of the board of directors of the Russian 'MedSintez' company, claimed that negotiations are ongoing to supply the medication to Armenia. It was also noted that the drug has been sent to China as humanitarian aid, where it is being tested for the treatment of coronavirus.
