MP Addresses Local Community Leaders of Armenia in Open Letter
Member of the Armenian National Assembly from the "My Step" faction, Varazdat Karapetyan, has addressed an open letter to the local community leaders of Armenia.
“Dear friends, the season for agricultural work is beginning. In some places, wheat and barley are being sown, while in others, strawberries and carrots are planted, livestock is being raised, orchards are cared for, or greenhouses are tended to. Now is the time for the community to be organized as a single economic unit and engage in the organization of agricultural work. The extent of land cultivated by the community's people now depends on each community leader. Gather people, clear the fields, and demand support from the government if needed. The government is listening now and is on your side.
Be fair: if you need to distribute something—land, resources… Self-organize. No one else can do this work on our behalf. Line up the equipment, find seeds, and bring them to the community, collect funds from the people, and buy fertilizers at once. Maintain communication with the National Assembly and the Government; you are the first people to work with farmers, and you know what is needed to ensure not a single inch of land remains uncultivated. Personally, accept me as your worker and mediator. The entire responsibility for this issue rests on your shoulders. Not everything should be defined by law; the law is our collective conscience and our duty to our people and future generations,” he wrote.
