Armenian Embassy in Japan Issues Announcement
The Armenian Embassy in Japan has issued an announcement: "For the attention of Armenian and foreign citizens arriving in Japan and Korea from Armenia. The Government of Japan has decided to impose an entry ban starting from April 3 indefinitely on citizens arriving from or who have visited 49 countries and regions in the last 14 days. According to this decision, the entry ban will also apply to citizens arriving from Armenia. The entry ban will not apply only to citizens with 'Special Circumstances' who will be allowed to enter Japan, but will be required to undergo testing for the new coronavirus. After receiving the test results, these citizens will be asked to self-isolate for 14 days and avoid using public transportation.
The restriction related to the advisory for self-isolation (this restriction applies to all citizens entering the country, including Japanese citizens, but is not mandatory) will be in effect until April 30. However, this timeframe may be extended.
The conditions for 'Special Circumstances' apply, in particular to citizens holding the status of 'Permanent Resident' in Japan, 'Spouse or Child of Japanese National', 'Spouse or Child of Permanent Resident', and 'Long Term Resident'.
It should be noted that starting today, April 2, a decision has also come into effect to impose a 14-day mandatory quarantine for all citizens arriving in the Republic of Korea (regardless of which country the citizen is arriving from, for what purpose, whether for a long or short visit, etc.), under which citizens must self-isolate in their homes. For those without a residence, hotels will be designated. Costs will be borne by the citizens themselves, with daily expenses amounting to 100,000 Korean won (approximately 81 USD)."
