I Will Be Forced to Steal Food: Citizens' Letters to Naira Zohrabyan
“And let no one suddenly say that this is populism, that we are gathering support or that these are isolated cases.” This was stated by NA 'Prosperous Armenia' faction MP Naira Zohrabyan on her Facebook page, where she published letters from citizens in need of social assistance addressed to her.
The full post is as follows:
“I insist that despite my esteemed colleagues' insistence from the NA podium trying to prove the unprovable—that the resettlement project has no connection to the prevention of the coronavirus—it may have a connection with the potential socio-political consequences of the coronavirus. I remain convinced that instead of resettling us, as the overwhelming majority of the people are already 'resettled' in their homes due to lack of work, let us solve the problems of those families who have reached desperation and are starving for various reasons but do not meet the criteria for social one-time assistance. STARVING.
And let no one suddenly think of talking about populism and gathering support. If we had such an intention, we would publish letters from hundreds of our compatriots, the consequences of which would undoubtedly be difficult to prevent.
Again, we say, let us go together, supporting each other, through the logic of rational steps, the roadmap of which has been presented by 'Prosperous Armenia.'”
