Georgia to Fund Utility Payments
The Government of Georgia has decided to fully finance utility payments for residents consuming up to 200 kWh of electricity and less than 200 m³ of natural gas for the months of March, April, and May. This was announced by Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia during a meeting of the Interagency Council on Coronavirus, as reported by Alik Media.
According to the Prime Minister, the funding will also cover garbage and water bills. “This assistance is directed to every citizen, although we understand that it is not enough. We need to identify all citizens who have lost their jobs as a result of this situation, after which we will have clear agreements for their immediate assistance,” said the Prime Minister.
