COVID-19: France Surpasses China in Death Toll

As of now, the number of patients infected with the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has exceeded 882,000 worldwide. According to research centers focused on coronavirus, the death toll has surpassed 44,000, with 185,067 recoveries reported. Approximately 95% of the infected individuals experience mild symptoms, while 5% are reported to have severe health issues.

The United States leads in the number of confirmed cases with 188,647, where the death toll has crossed 4,000. Italy follows as the second most affected country, with 105,792 confirmed cases, and it has the highest death toll globally with 12,428 fatalities.

Spain has now surpassed China to become the third in the number of infected, with 102,136 confirmed cases and an increase of over 6,000 new cases. The country’s death toll rose by 589, reaching 9,053.

China, once the epicenter of the outbreak, has reported a total of 81,554 confirmed cases, with only 36 new cases reported. Recoveries stand at 76,238, and the death toll is 3,312.

Germany follows China in infection rates, registering a total of 73,217 confirmed cases and 802 deaths. France is closely behind, with 52,128 confirmed cases and 3,523 deaths, surpassing China in death toll.

In Iran, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 47,593, with 2,987 new cases reported in a single day. The death count has increased by 138, totaling 3,036.

The total number of infections in the United Kingdom is at 25,150, and in Switzerland, it's 17,137. Georgia has confirmed 115 cases, Russia has 2,777, and Turkey has reported 13,531 cases. According to the World Health Organization, the number of countries and territories reporting infections has reached 200.
