Levon Aronian's Wife, Ariana Koilin, Passes Away

Levon Aronian, Armenia's leading grandmaster and FIDE World Cup winner, has announced the tragic passing of his wife, Ariana Koilin. He shared the news on his Twitter page, stating: "I can’t find the words to express my deep sorrow regarding the death of my wife, Ariana. She was an intelligent, hardworking, and joyful person who lived a happy life. I love you, my dear. Rest in peace."

Earlier, it was reported that Ariana Koilin was moved back to the intensive care unit after being admitted to Astghik Medical Center following an accident due to complications related to her lungs.

Recall that Ariana Koilin was involved in an accident in Yerevan on March 14. Around 11:50 PM, while driving her Lexus, she collided with a concrete support of the "Three-angel" bridge on Sebastia Street. Subsequently, she underwent several surgeries.

Ariana Koilin was 33 years old. A Filipina-born Australian chess player, she was a FIDE Women’s International Master. Levon Aronian and Ariana Koilin were married in 2017.
