Chechnya Closes Borders Due to Coronavirus: Gazeta
Chechnya's leader Ramzan Kadyrov announced in a live Instagram broadcast that the republic will suspend land and air traffic starting April 5 due to the coronavirus outbreak. Kadyrov added that the restrictions will not apply to food and medical supplies. He also emphasized that sanitary measures will begin within the republic.
“We are talking about the security of my people and the republic, and I must take decisive measures in such a situation,” the Chechen leader stated.
So far, 10 individuals have been infected with the coronavirus in Chechnya, and one person has died.
