Armenian Citizens Can Return from Ukraine Only on April 5: Embassy
The Armenian Embassy in Ukraine has announced that Armenian citizens wishing to return to Armenia from Ukraine now have only the option of taking the Minsk-Yerevan flight scheduled for April 5. Tickets for this flight are selling out quickly.
"The embassy warns that reaching the airport in Minsk from Ukraine can be problematic, particularly because the Ukrainian-Belarusian border can only be crossed on foot through designated checkpoints. Transportation to Minsk from the checkpoint may be available at that time from the Belarusian side of the border, as well as assistance from acquaintances, relatives, or friends residing in Belarus.
Moreover, the situation is changing daily; either the Ukrainian side may completely ban exit from the country, or the Belarusian side may impose restrictions on entry, sending incoming travelers to a 14-day mandatory quarantine, even if you have a ticket purchased from 'Belavia' airline.
We also inform you that organizing a charter flight from Kyiv to Yerevan is currently unrealistic due to a lack of a sufficient number of passengers and new restrictions imposed by Ukrainian authorities regarding flight arrangements (according to recent statements by Ukraine's Interior Minister).
If you have the opportunity to extend your stay in Ukraine, it is advisable to wait until the quarantine measures are lifted. The alternative—a land route to Minsk (for example, Kyiv-Minsk ~ 600 km)—is of uncertain outcome. There is a risk of remaining in a neutral zone upon exiting Ukraine, as Ukrainian border guards will not readmit Armenian citizens who have exited the country.
For Armenian citizens who decide to take the Minsk-Yerevan flight, we kindly ask that you inform the consular section of the Armenian Embassy in Ukraine for any possible assistance related to exit from the country.
This announcement is for informational purposes, and the Armenian Embassy in Ukraine does not take responsibility for the potential failure of the travel from Ukraine-Minsk-Yerevan due to changing circumstances. Please follow the health safety and personal hygiene rules set by the Ukrainian authorities.
We wish everyone good health!
