The Increase in Cases is Also Due to the Fact That Restrictions Are Not Always Observed Accurately: Prime Minister

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, addressed citizens during a live Facebook broadcast, urging them to take the situation very seriously.

“Let us think about ourselves, our relatives, primarily the elderly among our loved ones, as they are vulnerable to this disease,” he stated.

Pashinyan emphasized that there is no country that does not face a shortage of masks or where the healthcare system is not overwhelmed. The message to citizens remains the same: “Stay home, take care of yourselves, and protect the health of your families.”

The Prime Minister addressed the question of why the number of coronavirus infections is increasing. He noted that cases are rising, partly because, in many instances, the restrictions are not accurately upheld.

“We also have imported cases, as communication is not completely closed, cargo transport is ongoing, which results in certain instances of infection appearing. We are documenting these cases, and we are doing everything to limit them as much as possible. One of the key tools for this is the restriction of movement, including the use of mobile phone data for anti-epidemic purposes,” the Prime Minister said.
