Disinformation Spread by Armenian Fake and Hack Accounts, Says MoD Spokesperson
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, Shushan Stepanyan, addressed the recent failed diversion attempt by Azerbaijan on Facebook, stating:
“After the unsuccessful diversion attempt carried out yesterday towards the combat positions located in the Noyemberyan region of Tavush, the corresponding agencies of Azerbaijan have launched an information attack in the Armenian segment of social networks, this time targeting the military units located in the Noyemberyan region.
Fake and hacked accounts are spreading disinformation claiming that there has been an outbreak of coronavirus in the military units and divisions carrying out combat duty in the Noyemberyan region. This misinformation is being disseminated in various Armenian groups. Specifically, it was posted in one of the Artsakh groups, which was promptly removed by the group's admin. We ask that upon encountering such content, do not share it and immediately inform the group's admins. Be alert and attentive.”
