Armenia to Receive 60,000 Tests, Local Production Under Discussion - Avinyan
During a press conference held at the Government of Armenia, Minister of Emergency Situations Tigran Avinyan addressed the urgent need for an increased supply of tests. He stated, "Increasing the number of tests is one of our top priorities. Yesterday, we conducted 400 tests, which is currently the most accurate method, carried out under laboratory conditions."
Avinyan mentioned that, following the instructions of Armenia's Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan, efforts are underway to enhance this testing capability.
"On April 6, we will dispatch a plane that will bring a variety of equipment, including 60,000 tests, to the Republic of Armenia. I also want to inform you that we are currently discussing the local production of tests with one of our scientific institutes. We will provide support in terms of raw materials. This will be a function that requires mechanical and human workforce," he said.
Avinyan indicated that preliminary discussions suggest that the production of 100,000 tests could be implemented if all conditions can be met.
