Food and Hygiene Supplies Stockpiled for Unaccompanied Individuals in Artsakh
In Artsakh, food and hygiene supplies for one month have been stockpiled for unaccompanied individuals. This was reported by the Artsakh Information Headquarters.
According to the information provided by the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, and Resettlement of the Republic of Artsakh, supplies have been set aside to support 440 solitary citizens (unemployed, aged 63 and older) who do not have children (including adopted), spouses (except in cases where the spouse has a third-degree restriction on the ability to engage in work), or legal guardians.
The distribution of these products is scheduled to take place at the beginning of April. As part of measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, the ministry will also support families with children under 14 who are facing social issues due to difficulties in the labor market. This will be accomplished through the “Assistance” program, which involves matching information from tax bases to identify children whose parents lost their sources of income after March 16, 2020.
In accordance with an agreement made between the Ministries of Labor, Social Affairs, Resettlement, and Health of Artsakh, additional support will be provided to medical workers working 24/7 at four border checkpoints between Artsakh and Armenia.
Efforts are underway to coordinate with charitable and public organizations that have expressed a desire to provide social assistance, ensuring that contributions from individual economic operators are directed at the most vulnerable social groups. The ministry continues to accept citizens' applications and provide monetary (material) assistance while adhering to the required sanitary and hygienic conditions.
