New Procedures for Obtaining Driver's License to be Established
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" has learned that new procedures will be established for passing examinations to obtain a driver’s license and for issuing driver’s licenses. Additionally, regulations will also be set for the medical certification of individuals holding a driver's license as well as those considered candidates for drivers.
Specifically, it is reported that a candidate or driver applying to the Road Police of the Republic of Armenia for a driver’s license must be familiar with the list of medical contraindications, medical indications, and medical restrictions for operating a vehicle and must fill out a health declaration.
If there is a medical contraindication detected through electronic means, the issuance of the driver’s license will be denied. Moreover, vehicles designated for practical driving skill testing must be equipped with recording devices for audio and visual documentation as well as necessary equipment for archiving video footage, which costs about 300,000 AMD per testing vehicle. A total of 22 vehicles are needed for one testing unit. In short, a total of 88 vehicles are required, amounting to approximately 859 million AMD. Notably, the Road Police of Armenia has requested assistance from the government regarding the budget for these vehicles,” the newspaper writes.
