Two More Soldiers Test Positive for Coronavirus, None of the Infected Five Have Pneumonia: MoD
Due to the identification of coronavirus in three soldiers, samples were taken for testing from 32 soldiers of the same unit who are not involved in combat duties, as well as from five others the day before. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Minister of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan.
"As a result of the testing, two soldiers were diagnosed with coronavirus, and the results of 35 soldiers were negative. The confirmed cases are interconnected with a primary case registered in the given unit. The soldiers have been hospitalized, and their health condition is assessed as satisfactory. Both soldiers had been isolated beforehand.
None of the five infected soldiers have pneumonia; one has mild fever, while the other four show no symptoms characteristic of the disease. Those who have had close contact with the soldiers continue to remain isolated in a specially designated area, which is provided with necessary living conditions for complete isolation. High-quality food is being provided to the isolated soldiers.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia will periodically update information regarding efforts to prevent the infiltration and spread of coronavirus within the armed forces and current statistics, as needed. We urge everyone to follow only official information. Maximum efforts are being made within the armed forces to combat the virus.
I am currently at the isolation site where I will soon provide a live broadcast to see how our soldiers are doing," she added.
