Intercity Electric Trains Operational; Only Yerevan-Gyumri Express Not Running
The South Caucasian Railway company continues to operate intercity electric trains, except for the express service between Yerevan and Gyumri. This was stated by the company's press secretary Ruben Grdzelyan on his Facebook page.
“Dear fellow citizens, since inquiries have increased, I will write here: The South Caucasian Railway continues to operate intercity electric trains, except for the express train between Yerevan and Gyumri. Regular schedules are maintained for Yerevan-Gyumri-Yerevan, Gyumri-Yerevan-Gyumri, Yerevan-Eraskh-Yerevan, and Yerevan-Araks-Yerevan routes.
The delivery of agricultural products from the Ararat plain to Yerevan via the Eraskh and Araks routes is quite active these days. Additionally, I would like to mention that under today’s restrictions on automobile movement, railway transport remains easy and convenient, importantly safer, perhaps the only viable option for moving between settlements.
Stay healthy and make use of our old and faithful workhorses, as the railway workers say, let’s go with Erkeq (ЭР2, Электропоезд Рижский, 2-й тип)!”
