349 Administrative Protocols Filed for Violating Quarantine and Self-Isolation Rules
During the state of emergency declared to prevent the spread of the new type of coronavirus in Armenia, 349 individuals have been issued administrative violation protocols for breaking quarantine or self-isolation rules, or other restrictions on the right to free movement, between the hours of 9 AM and 6 PM on March 26. This information was shared by Ashot Aharonyan, head of the Public Relations and Media Department of the Police of Armenia, on his Facebook page.
According to Aharonyan, from the moment the decision of the Prime Minister came into effect until March 26 at 6:00 PM, protocols have been compiled for 635 individuals for violations of quarantine or self-isolation rules, including 299 in the capital and 336 in the regions. Additionally, on March 26 from 9 AM to 6 PM, traffic police detected 491 vehicles with more than two occupants, while after the Prime Minister's decision was enacted until March 26 at 6 PM, 1,176 vehicles were stopped. All individuals who violated the order were removed from their vehicles,” Aharonyan reported.
He noted that administrative violation protocols were also filed against 26 drivers of public transport for carrying more passengers than permitted. To further prevent the spread of the new type of coronavirus, the police of Armenia urge people to strictly limit their outings from home.
As of 10:00 AM on March 26, there are a total of 290 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Armenia, with 1,440 negative test results. Currently, 271 individuals are receiving treatment. The government of Armenia has declared a state of emergency effective throughout the territory of Armenia from March 16, 2020, at 6:30 PM until April 14, 2020, at 5:00 PM. From 11:59 PM on March 24 until 11:59 PM on March 31, the right to free movement will be restricted across the entire territory.
As of March 26 at 10:00 AM, 18 citizens have recovered from the coronavirus, and 88 have been released from isolation. On March 26, a 72-year-old citizen died from the virus.
