Large Quantities of Artificial Ventilation Devices for Lungs to Be Provided to Armenia Soon
President Armen Sarkissian received the head of the UN World Food Programme's Armenia office, Elena Miloshevich, today. The two discussed the established effective cooperation between Armenia and the UN World Food Programme.
In light of the global spread of the novel coronavirus, they identified food security issues as a priority. In this context, President Sarkissian emphasized the importance of practical steps to make Armenia a regional hub in the field of food security, highlighting his preliminary agreements with several country leaders and specialized international organizations.
Pointing out that the World Food Programme is known as one of the first responding international organizations during emergencies, President Sarkissian suggested that, in addition to food-related issues, they also consider the possibility of providing medical equipment to Armenia.
In response to the President's proposal, Elena Miloshevich stated that they have appealed to international donors and that a large quantity of artificial ventilation devices for lungs will be provided to Armenia soon.
